Private, independent service — not governmentHow we work
NaijaBridge is an independent private consultancy and is not the Nigerian Immigration Service, the Nigeria High Commission, or any government department. Government fees are paid by applicants directly through official portals.
How we protect your sensitive identity documents and personal information — in plain English, not legalese.
SECTION 01
Our Commitment & Who We Are
NaijaBridge acts as the data controller for all personal information you share with us, in compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). We are an independent application-support consultancy operated fully remotely — not the Nigeria Immigration Service, the Nigeria High Commission, or any other government body. Because our services require reviewing official identity documents — passports, NIN slips, and civil certificates — we apply the strictest standards of data minimisation, purpose limitation, and security.
If a personal data breach ever occurs that risks your rights, we will notify you and the ICO within 72 hours, as UK GDPR requires.
SECTION 02
What Information We Collect
We collect only the categories of data required to prepare and review your application:
Full legal name, date of birth, place of birth and gender — exactly as they appear on your records.
Current and previous Nigerian passport numbers, expiry dates and booklet specifications.
Your 11-digit National Identification Number (NIN) and NIN slip documents.
UK residential address, telephone number and email address.
Civil registry certificates (birth certificates for minors, marriage or custody documents) only where your application requires them.
Chat and email correspondence relating to your case.
We never ask for bank passwords, card PINs, or one-time codes. Official passport and High Commission charges are paid by you directly on the official portals, with receipts in your name. Our own advisory fee (£50 flat per case) is invoiced to us separately and paid only after you approve a written quote.
SECTION 03
How We Use Your Data & Our Legal Bases
Your data is used strictly to complete your NIS portal forms, verify your details against your NIN record, assemble your document pack, and communicate with you about your case. We never sell, rent, or trade client data with advertisers or marketing brokers. Under UK GDPR, each processing activity rests on a specific legal basis:

SECTION 04
Who We Share Data With
Very few parties ever touch your data, and only where the service technically requires it:
The NIS portal / Nigeria High Commission — forms are submitted in your name, with your approval. Official fees are paid by you, on the official portals; we guide you and keep copies of your official receipts in your case folder.
WhatsApp (Meta) — only if you choose to message us there; that channel is governed by Meta's privacy policy. If you choose to share document images in WhatsApp, send only the minimum needed after reviewing the risks.
Our payment processor — if you pay our £50 advisory fee by card, card details go to the processor, never to us. We retain only the invoice.
We never share client data with advertisers, data brokers, immigration agents, or any other third party. Ever.
International transfers: some providers (e.g. WhatsApp, NIS portal) process data outside the UK. They operate under UK-recognised transfer safeguards; we choose UK/EU-hosted storage wherever possible.
SECTION 05
Data Retention & Document Purging
We hold identity documents for the shortest time the job allows. Our retention schedule:
Day 0
Engagement starts
Documents stored encrypted, access limited to your named adviser.
Day 30
Identity scans purged
Passport photos, NIN slips and certificate scans deleted from active systems after your document pack completes.
12 months
Case notes anonymised
Contact history kept for service continuity, then anonymised.
6 years
Accounting records
Invoices and payment receipts retained only as long as tax law requires.
Want earlier deletion? Email the DPO and we purge within 7 days, no questions asked (except where tax law forbids it).
SECTION 06
Security Measures
Identity documents are high-value targets, so we treat them accordingly:
Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest for all stored documents.
Access restricted to the single named adviser handling your case.
Two-factor authentication on all accounts holding client data.
No client documents stored on personal devices or unmanaged cloud drives.
Annual review of access permissions and storage locations.
If a personal data breach ever occurs that risks your rights, we will notify you and the ICO within 72 hours, as UK GDPR requires. ICO registration: [ICO NUMBER, IF APPLICABLE].
SECTION 07

SECTION 08
Cookies & Chat Widgets
This site uses no advertising trackers and no data-selling pixels. The only third-party script is our live-chat widget (Tawk.to), which sets functional cookies needed to keep your chat session alive. You can block or clear these cookies in your browser at any time without breaking the rest of the site.
No ad networks. No fingerprinting. No selling of browsing data. See our full Cookie Policy.
SECTION 09
Children's Data, Changes & Contact
Our child-passport service processes minors' data solely under the authority of a parent or legal guardian, and only for the application in question. If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above and notify active clients by email. For anything privacy-related — access requests, deletion, complaints about how we handled your data — contact our Data Protection Officer:
DPO: privacy@naijabridge.co.uk — we answer privacy requests within one month.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113. We'd rather fix it ourselves first — please tell us.
Your data, your control.
Any question about how we handle your documents — ask before you sign up, not after.
