General process & travel
5Partly. The application form, document upload, payment and appointment booking all start online on the official NIS portal — we complete and submit each step on your behalf. But biometric capture (fingerprints and facial photograph) must be done in person at the official centre shown on your appointment confirmation; there are no remote exemptions for adults or children.
Adult renewal serviceWe recommend starting about six months before your passport's expiration date. Many airlines and immigration authorities refuse international travel if your passport has fewer than six months of validity remaining.
Yes. An expired passport remains valid proof of your Nigerian identity. You follow the standard renewal route, provided your biometric records can be matched with your 11-digit National Identification Number (NIN).
The NIS 2026 service standard states 21 days after successful biometric enrolment for a standard reissue, and 42 days for a fresh passport. Your appointment wait, incomplete documents, NIN mismatch, extra checks and dispatch or collection can make the end-to-end journey longer. We quote each clock separately and never add them into one promised date.
If rejection stems from a paperwork error we prepared, we refund 100% of our advisory fee and correct the file at no extra charge. If it stems from factors outside our control — undisclosed name mismatches, prior immigration matters, or policy changes — our fee stands, and the government fees you paid directly to NIS remain non-refundable. Our pre-check exists precisely to catch rejection causes before anything is paid.
Fees & payments
5For 2026, plan on about £198 for a 5-year passport or about £261 for a 10-year passport — our flat £50 application-support fee plus the official charges ($162 or $242 including the $12 portal gateway charge, plus the £20 High Commission administrative charge per the September 2026 notice). Those GBP figures are estimates at $1 ≈ £0.79; official fees and exchange rates are confirmed per client in your written cost summary. You pay the official charges directly on the official portals; our fee is invoiced separately. Official charges checked 30 Sep 2026.
Full 2026 fee breakdownThe NIS international portal charges all overseas passport tariffs in USD through an approved payment processor. You pay in USD with your own card on the official portal; your bank's conversion charge is variable and is labelled as variable in your cost summary — never as profit for us.
No. Our £50 application-support fee is a separate private charge covering your document checklist, NIN name check, form completion and submission, one full document review, one correction round and a biometrics-day checklist. Official passport and High Commission charges are separate payments made by you, directly on the official portals.
No. Official fees are non-refundable once paid to NIS, regardless of outcome. That is exactly why the free eligibility check and the two-working-day document review exist — we catch refusal causes before you pay anything.
Do not pay again blindly. Check the portal status and payment reference first — a payment that has not flipped to 'Paid' produces no acknowledgment slip. We help you verify the reference and status before any retry, so you are never charged twice.
National Identification Number (NIN)
5Yes. The NIS passport portal validates against the NIMC register in real time and requires an active 11-digit NIN at submission. If you have never enrolled, start with NIN guidance — we can prepare the enrolment track and the passport track in parallel so nothing waits on anything else.
The Federal Government of Nigeria made the National Identification Number (NIN) issued by NIMC mandatory for all passport issuances globally. The NIS passport database cross-verifies applicant identity in real time against the NIMC central register. Note: this is Nigeria's NIN — not the UK National Insurance number.
Pause the passport application and correct the authoritative NIN record through an authorised NIMC channel or licensed provider before proceeding. Even a reversed first/middle name or one misspelled character fails biometric verification at the High Commission. Our comparison takes 1–2 working days; official correction time is variable and case-dependent.
NIN registration & mismatch guidanceYes. Minors of all ages — including newborns — must be enrolled with NIMC and assigned an 11-digit NIN, linked to a parent's NIN record. NIMC states UK enrolment is free of charge; we confirm the current position with you at pre-check before anything is paid.
Yes — provided every detail on the slip matches your passport application exactly: first-name order, middle names, surname and date of birth. We compare the two records character-by-character before submission; if anything differs, the slip must be corrected first.
Appointments & biometrics
5All of our preparation is remote, so we work with clients in every UK city. Biometrics, however, happen only at the official centre shown on your appointment confirmation — currently the Nigeria High Commission in London for UK applicants. Centre availability can change, so we check the current position with you before any official payment.
How the renewal process worksNo. Appointment booking must be carried out by you, through the official system only. We do not sell slots or engage in slot hoarding. We provide slot-release guidance, timing alerts and a complete attendance document pack.
No. We can help you monitor and book official availability, but we do not control or sell appointment slots — and nobody legitimately can.
Modest clothing is required. Darker or coloured shirts and tops are strongly recommended — avoid plain white clothing, as the photo backdrop is light grey/white. Caps, hats and non-religious headwear are prohibited during photograph capture.
Due to security and space restrictions, only scheduled applicants are permitted entry. In the case of minor children, one accompanying parent is allowed entry.
Lost passports, name changes & children
4Report the loss to UK police and keep the incident reference, then gather a sworn affidavit of loss and, where required, the lost-passport administrative penalty fee slip. Loss cases follow a different reissue route with extra security checks — standard timings do not apply, and we never promise 21 days on a loss case.
Lost or damaged passport guidanceCorrect the authoritative records first: update your NIN profile, then apply for the passport change with your certified marriage certificate, a formal letter of request and, where applicable, affidavit or publication evidence. Where the NIN and passport conflict, the passport track pauses until the records match.
Name change & data correction guidanceUsually yes, with the right legal evidence — a court custody order, a death certificate, or a statutory declaration of sole responsibility. These cases are document-sensitive, so we review your circumstances privately before advising which route the High Commission will accept.
Child passport serviceThat is a first issuance, not a renewal: the child needs a NIN linked to a parent first, plus the UK birth certificate and both parents' Nigerian passports. The government clock for a fresh passport is 42 days after successful enrolment, subject to child-document checks.
Nigerian child passport renewal UKWorking with NaijaBridge
6No. NaijaBridge is an independent private consultancy. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an agency of the Nigeria High Commission, the Nigeria Immigration Service, or the Federal Government of Nigeria. Government fees are paid by you, directly on the official portals, and you book and attend your own biometric appointment. We prepare everything around those two facts.
No to both. We are an independent application-support service: our deliverable is a checked application pack, submitted on your behalf with your approval. Only the Nigerian authorities decide applications and issue passports.
A named adviser reviews your file and returns one numbered correction list within two working days of a complete upload — plus your written cost summary (our £50 fee and every official charge listed separately). Nothing starts until you approve it.
WhatsApp is the support channel we use when you choose to continue there, but it is not a dedicated document-management system. We explain the privacy risks first; never send originals, payment details, PINs or one-time codes, and share only the minimum documents needed for your case.
No. The eligibility check is completely free. After it you receive one written cost summary — our flat £50 application-support fee plus the official charges listed separately. Nothing is paid until you approve it: no hourly billing, no surprise add-ons.
Nobody can speed up the Nigerian government, and anyone claiming otherwise is misleading you. What we can do is complete the first document review within two working days of a complete upload, so nothing on your side delays your own appointment booking.
