Requirements vary slightly by case type and by the official centre shown on your appointment confirmation. When you use our service, we arrange your document pack in the exact sequence the reception desk expects, and flag anything missing, expired or mismatched within two working days of a complete upload.
Costs at a glance
- Our application-support fee: £50 flat per case — invoiced to us after you approve a written quote. No tiers, no hourly rates.
- Official government fees (you pay directly): $162 for a 5-year 32-page booklet or $242 for a 10-year 64-page booklet (each including the $12 portal gateway charge), plus the £20 High Commission administrative charge per the September 2026 notice. Child applications pay the same $162 as the 5-year adult booklet. Receipts stay in your name.
- Other costs you control: NIMC states NIN enrolment is free (we confirm at pre-check); the Royal Mail envelope is bought by you at any Post Office; variable items like affidavits, police reports or courier fees are quoted first and labelled as variable.
- Your safeguard: you can verify payment settlement yourself on the NIS portal at any time — the application and every official receipt are in your name.

Adult Renewal Documents
The standard renewal documents for adults. Our adult passport renewal service checks every item below before you book anything.
- Original expired Nigerian passport: Presented to the verification officer. If it is lost or damaged, see the lost or stolen section below — the route changes.
- Colour photocopy of passport data page: Clear, legible copy of the bio-data page showing your photo and details, on plain A4 paper.
- Validated NIS passport application form: Completed online during the portal application, then printed, signed and dated. We complete and submit the form on your behalf; you make every declaration yourself.
- NIS payment slip & acknowledgment slip: Evidence of payment settlement from the NIS gateway — generated in your name when you pay on the official portal.
- High Commission appointment slip: Printout of your confirmed biometric appointment date, time and centre.
- NIN slip (11-digit): Official NIMC slip. Name order, middle names and date of birth must match your passport records identically.
- Pre-paid Royal Mail Special Delivery envelope: 500g Silver Guaranteed by 1pm envelope addressed to your UK address, purchased at any Post Office.
Format & presentation rules
- All photocopies on plain A4 white paper — colour, single-sided, full edges visible
- No laminating, trimming, or stapling of any official document
- Bring originals plus one complete copy set, arranged in the exact order listed
- Payment and acknowledgment slips must show barcodes clearly — no folds across them
Child Passport Documents
Minors need every adult document plus these guardianship proofs. Consent and custody evidence is where most child applications fail — our child passport service drafts the consent letter for you.
- All adult documents above: Everything in the adult list applies to the child's application too, in the child's name.
- Statutory letter of parental consent: Signed letter from the appropriate parent(s). We draft and format it to the correct addressee for you.
- Full original birth certificate: Must state both mother's and father's full legal names — a certificate missing either triggers a guardianship query.
- Parents' Nigerian passport biodata pages: Clear colour copies of both parents' valid or expired passport biodata pages.
- Evidence of parents' UK legal stay: BRP card, UK Share Code printout, ILR letter, or British passport copies.
- Custody or sole-responsibility evidence (where applicable): Court order, death certificate or statutory declaration when only one parent accompanies the child.
NIN Enrolment Documents
Needed before or alongside a passport application when you have no active 11-digit NIN. See our NIN registration guidance for the referral and matching process.
- NIN pre-enrolment / application form: Completed online with tracking ID — we prepare this with you.
- Proof of identity: Existing Nigerian passport, driver's licence, or national ID card.
- Proof of UK address: Utility bill, bank statement, or tenancy agreement dated within the last 3 months.
- Birth certificate or age declaration: Required for minors and first-time applicants without prior records.
- Parent/guardian's NIN (for minors): A child's NIN record is linked to a parent's or guardian's NIN.
Scope note: biometric enrolment must be completed in person at a licensed NIMC enrolment centre — by law, we cannot perform it. We prepare everything up to that point and refer you to a licensed UK provider.
Passport Photo Requirements
Photograph refusals are among the most common avoidable delays. These passport photo requirements apply to adults and children alike — child photos must show the child alone, with no parent, hands or toys in frame.
- 2 identical colour photographs, 35mm × 45mm, taken within the last 6 months
- Plain white or off-white background — no patterns, shadows, or other people in frame
- Full face, front view, eyes open, neutral expression, mouth closed
- No headwear except for religious reasons; face fully visible from chin to forehead
- No glasses, tinted lenses, or heavy accessories; avoid glare and reflections
- Matte finish print, no borders, stamps, creases, or ink marks
Nigerian Passport Renewal Form (NIS)
The renewal form is completed online during the NIS portal application — it captures your personal details, address, next of kin and booklet choice. It must then be printed, signed and dated, and carried to your biometrics appointment with the barcode visible and unfolded.

Name Change or Marriage — Extra Documents
- Certified Marriage Certificate (UK Registry or Nigerian Ministry of Interior).
- Formal Letter of Request for change of surname.
- Evidence of updated NIMC NIN profile reflecting the new surname.
- Newspaper change of name publication or sworn affidavit (if applicable).

Lost or Stolen Nigerian Passport in the UK — Extra Documents
- Official UK Police Incident / Loss Reference Report.
- Sworn Affidavit of Loss from a recognised UK Commissioner for Oaths.
- Photocopy of the lost passport biodata page (if available).
- Government lost-passport administrative penalty fee slip, once issued.
- The damaged booklet itself, where it still exists.
